Sunday from 8-11p.m. in all time zones, “The 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards” (5.4 rating in adults 18-49, 16.9 million viewers overall) scored gains versus last year’s telecast of 10 percent in adults 18-49 (5.4 vs. 4.9) and 14 percent in total viewers (16.9 million vs. 14.9 million).

These are the top Golden Globe results since 2007 (the 2008 awards were announced during a truncated telecast due to the WGA strike).

Last night’s “Golden Globe Awards” attracted NBC’s highest adult 18-49 rating in the time period, excluding sports, in five years (since the 2005 Golden Globe Awards telecast, which averaged a 5.7 rating on January 16, 2005) and NBC’s largest overall viewership in the time period, excluding sports, in six years (since the 2004 Golden Globe Awards telecast, which averaged 26.8 million viewers overall on January 25, 2004).

This is NBC’s top-rated primetime entertainment telecast in 18-49 since the ER finale (April 2, 2009, 6.0).

Versus NBC’s non-sports average in this time period last season, the “Golden Globe Awards” telecast was up 116 percent in 18-49 rating (5.4 vs. 2.5) and 127 percent in total viewers (16.9 million vs. 7.4 million).

“The 67th Annual Golden Globe Awards” won its highly competitive three-hour time period in adults 18-49, adults 18-34, adults 25-54, total viewers and other key measures over such competition as ABC’s “Desperate Housewives,” Fox’s series premiere of “The Human Target” and season debut of “24” and CBS’s “60 Minutes” and “Cold Case.”
