NBC's 'The Cape' strong opening, take 10pm slot

From 9-11 p.m., a special Sunday preview of the new Monday series “The Cape” captured a 2.6/6 in 18-49 and 8.4 million viewers overall. 


“The Cape” matched NBC’s 2009-10 non-sports season average for the time slot in adults 18-49 (a 2.6 rating, L+SD) and was up 19 percent in total viewers (8.389 million vs. 7.078 million). 

“The Cape” ranked #2 in the two-hour time period among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in men 18-34 and men 18-49.

For its second hour from 10-11 p.m. ET, “The Cape” is #1 among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-49, as well as adults 18-34, adults 25-54 and all key adult-male demographics. 

For that second hour, “The Cape” matched the ABC-CBS rating combined in men 18-49 (with a 2.8 rating vs. a combined 2.8) and topped the combined ABC-CBS score in men 18-34 (2.4 vs. a combined 1.8).

From 7-9 p.m., “Dateline NBC” reported a 1.1/3 in 18-49 and 5.6 million viewers overall.  From its first half-hour to its fourth, “Dateline” grew by 114 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.5 from a 0.7) and by 74 percent or 3.1 million persons in total viewers (to 7.3 million from 4.2 million).  Versus NBC’s 2009-10 non-sports season average in the time period, “Dateline NBC” is up 9 percent in total viewers (5.617 million vs. 5.148 million).
