NBC's Thursday's comedy line-up in third position

At 8 p.m. ET, “Community” delivered a 2.0/5 in 18-49 and 4.3 million viewers overall in a highly competitive time period that included Fox’s “American Idol,” CBS’s “Big Bang Theory” and ABC’s “Winter Wipeout.”  “Community” is up 5 percent versus NBC’s average in the slot for the traditional ’09-10 season (2.0 vs. 1.9, non-sports, “live plus same day”).


At 8:30 p.m. ET, “Perfect Couples” averaged a 1.4/4 in 18-49 and 3.1 million viewers overall.  “Perfect Couples” is #2 in the slot among ABC, CBS, NBC and Fox in men 18-34.
   
From 9-9:31 p.m. ET, “The Office” (3.7/9 in 18-49, 7.3 million viewers overall) ranked #2 among ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW in adults 18-49 and finished #1 in adults 18-34 and men 18-34, 18-49 and 25-54 in a slot that includes competition from ABC’s “Grey’s Anatomy” and CBS’s “CSI,” plus Fox’s “Bones,” which benefited from an “American Idol” lead-in.   
 
From 9:31-10 p.m. ET, “Parks and Recreation” delivered a 2.5/6 in 18-49 and 5.1 million viewers overall.  In the time period versus “Grey’s Anatomy,” “CSI” and “Bones,” “Parks and Recreation” ranked #1 among ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and CW in men 18-34 and men 18-49 (tie). 
 
From 10-10:31 p.m. ET, “30 Rock” (2.4/6 in 18-49, 4.8 million viewers overall) matched NBC’s second highest 18-49 rating in the time slot, excluding sports, since April 15, 2010.  In the time period, “30 Rock” is #1 among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-34, men 18-34 and men 18-49 (tie) versus ABC’s “Private Practice” and CBS’s “The Mentalist.”  “30 Rock” improved on NBC’s time-period average in the half-hour last season by 26 percent in 18-49 (2.4 vs. 1.9). 

Despite facing original competition on both ABC and CBS for the first time in this slot, “30 Rock” matched its 18-49 rating of one week earlier when it aired against encores on ABC and CBS.
 
From 10:31-11 p.m. ET, “Outsourced” averaged a 1.8/5 in 18-49 and 3.8 million viewers overall.  In the time slot, “Outsourced” ranked #1 among ABC, CBS and NBC in adults 18-34 and men 18-34. 

Despite facing original competition on both ABC and CBS for the first time in this half-hour, “Outsourced” finished within 5% of its 18-49 rating of one week earlier, when it aired against encores on ABC and CBS (with a 1.8 rating this week vs. a 1.9 last week).
Airing for the first time against all original competition, NBC’s six-comedy Thursday schedule finished within 8 percent of its of its rating of one week earlier (2.3 vs. 2.5), which came against encores of “Grey’s Anatomy,” “Private Practice,” “Big Bang Theory” “CSI” and “The Mentalist.”
