Five years of Windy City winters are about to end for Matthew Lodbell.

The VP/Finance for NBC O&O WMAQ-5 and Telemundo O&O WSNS-44 in Chicago has been selected to serve as CFO for the Telemundo Station Group.

He’ll be based in South Florida, at NBCU’s news facility for NBC O&O WTVJ-6 and Telemundo O&O WSCV-51 in Hialeah, to the northwest of Miami. There, he will oversee financial operations for the 26 Telemundo O&Os, including WKAQ-2 in San Juan. He’ll also oversee NBCU’s TeleXitos digital multicast network.

Telemundo Station Group President Manuel Martinez is Lobdell’s boss. He says, “Matt is a seasoned financial professional. He’s done an excellent job managing our stations accounting and reporting operations in Chicago, Dallas and San Diego as each local team experienced periods of massive growth. I look forward to working with Matt as we continue to strengthen our Telemundo stations, including the local teams we’ve recently added to our portfolio.”

Lobdell joined NBCUniversal in 2007 as Finance Manager for KNSD-39 (cable 7) in San Diego. After 1 year and eight months, he relocated to Dallas, to serve as Finance Director of KXAS-5 and KXTX-39, the NBC and Telemundo O&Os in North Texas. He then moved to Chicago in early 2013.

Editor’s Note: An earlier version of this story incorrectly reported that Lobdell would be based in Telemundo’s new Doral, Fla., operations center.
