NBCU's Maryam Banikarim jumps to Gannett

Television and Internet marketing maven Maryam Banikarim has been named Sr. Vice President and Chief marketing Officer of Gannett Company. She joins Gannett from NBCUniversal, where she was Sr. VP of Integrated Sales Marketing. Before that she was Chief Marketing Officer for Univision.

In her previous job at NBCU Banikarim worked across the company’s portfolio to develop custom, innovative ad sales solutions on behalf of clients. She also oversaw marketing for NBCUniversal and the company’s cross-platform initiatives including Women at NBCU, Green is Universal and Healthy.

At Gannett she will be responsible for all companywide marketing, communications and research efforts. Banikarim will also be a member of the Gannett Management Committee.
