At the request of numerous organizations with interest in public broadcasting, the recently announced filing window for NCE FM CPs in the non-reserved band (north of 92 MHz) has been pushed back two months. It had been scheduled for 12/11-19-09. It has been changed to 2/19-26/09. A freeze on minor change CP applications is also moved back, from 11/25/09 to 2/5/10. The freeze will thaw on 2/26/09.
The groups, including National Federation of Community Broadcasters, Native Public Media, Station Resource Group, Pacifica Foundation, Common Frequency, Community Media Assistance Project, Future of Music Coalition, Prometheus Radio Project, and Public Radio Capital, said that the December simply did not allow some of the applicants enough time to get their act together, and the FCC agreed.
