“NCIS” DELIVERS NEARLY 21 MILLION VIEWERS OPPOSTE THE PREMIERE OF “AMERICAN IDOL”


“NCIS” Retains Almost 100% of Its Viewer Delivery (99.5%), 100% of Its Adult 18-34 Average and 96% of Its Adult 18-49 First-Run Averages

“The Good Wife” Wins Its Time Period in all Measures

Opposite the premiere of “American Idol,” NCIS delivered nearly 21 million viewers, almost a 100% retention of its live plus same day season average, according to Nielsen preliminary live plus same day ratings for Tuesday, Jan. 12.

At 8:00 PM, NCIS was second in households (12.6/19), viewers (20.85m), adults 25-54 (6.0/14), adults 18-49 (4.3/11) and adults 18-34 (3.1/09).  Compared to the program’s first-run live plus same day (pre-“American Idol”) average this season, NCIS retained 100% of both its ratings in household (12.6/20) and adults 18-34 (3.1/09), 97% of adults 25-54 (6.2/16), 96% of adults 18-49 (4.5/12).  NCIS outdelivered its live plus same day season-to-date viewers average (20.81m). 
 
At 9:00 PM, NCIS: LOS ANGELES was second in households (9.7/15), viewers (15.60m), adults 25-54 (4.3/09) and averaged a 3.0/07 in adults 18-49.  NCIS: LOS ANGELES retained 93% of its live plus same day season average viewer delivery opposite the second hour of “American Idol.”  
 
At 10:00 PM, THE GOOD WIFE was first in households (9.0/15), viewers (13.87m), adults 25-54 (4.2/11) and adults 18-49 (3.0/08).   THE GOOD WIFE beat the competition combined in households (vs. 6.7/12, +34%), viewers (vs. 10.42m, +33%), adults 25-54 (vs. 3.8/10, +11%) and tied in adults 18-49. 
 
For the night, CBS was second in households (10.4/16), viewers (16.77m), adults 25-54 (4.8/11) and adults 18-49 (3.5/09).
