New Christmas classic in the making

At least, executives of Lifetime Television have to be hoping that “Twelve Men of Christmas” becomes one of those heartwarming holiday favorites that people want to watch again each December. The romantic comedy stars Tony Award winner and Emmy nominee Kristin Chenoweth.

The made-for-TV movie based on the novel “Decent Exposure” by Phillipa Ashley will debut in December 2009 as part of the network’s annual “Fa La La La Lifetime” programming event.

It’s anything but a Merry Christmas for die-hard New Yorker E.J. Baxter, played by Chenoweth, when she loses her high-powered publicity job and her fiancé all on the same night at her office holiday party. To get away from all that heartache she takes a job in Montana and channels her energy into raising money for a local search and rescue team. Her idea of a beef cake calendar leads to the storyline featuring a certain Mr. December. No word yet on his casting.

Twelve Men of Christmas is produced by Fox Television Studios for Lifetime Television. Jon Maas, who also wrote the script, serves as Executive Producer alongside Lisa Demberg. Arlene Sanfrd directs from a script based on the book Decent Exposure by Phillipa Ashley.
