New entrant bets on Atlantic City

Atlantic Broadcasting of Linwood NJ is acquiring a two-AM, three-FM radio station cluster in Atlantic City NJ, marking its entry into the biz. The seller is Sidney Small’s Access.1 Communications Corporation. According to brokerage house Kalil & Co., the stations included in the deal are WMGM-FM Atlantic City, WTKU-FM Ocean City, WJSE-FM Petersburg, and WTAA-AM/WOND-AM Pleasantville. According to PressofAtlanticCity.com, the buyers are a distinctly local group. The president of the company will be local businessman Brett DeNafo. Michael Ferriola is a communications engineer, Joseph Borsello is an air personality and Paul Kelly, who will become PD, is exiting a PD/airshift with Equity’s crosstown WAYV-FM. The cluster’s current GM, Dick Irland, and Sales Director, Mike Kazala, are also going to be on hand going forward.
