Gun control has been a hot button issue of late, but the premiere of a new NRA program – “NRANEWS Cam & Co.” on Sportsman Channel – is said to be coincidental. The program, a version of which is already heard on the internet and Sirius XM, has been in the works for some time.

NRA already has two other programs on the channel, “NRA’s Guns & Gold” and “3 Gun Nation.”
The program will seek to offer information on Second Amendment issues, as well as the current debate, from the NRA’s point of view.

Cam Edwards is the host for the program which began 1/15/13 and airs from 5PM-6PM eastern time.

Sportsman Network says its mission is to serve America’s 82M sports enthusiasts, of which it reaches some 31M via carriage on MVPD systems.

“We are thrilled to bring the news, stories, people and places we cover daily to Sortsman Channel’s passionate national audience, which spans many interests from shooting sports to hunting to the Second Amendment and much more,” said Edwards. “The tremendous success we’ve experienced with our radio show underscores the desire for this type of programming to meet the underserved needs for accurate, balanced and honest information about the topics, news and events that matter to America’s millions of active sportsmen and sportswomen.”
