WODI-AM Brookneal, VA is getting a new owner. And since they buyer already owns a trio of stations in another market, this acquisition makes them a group owner, although it is a rather far-flung group.

Buyer JKC Media Ventures is owned by Jonathan K. Cohen, who currently owns WJKC-FM, WMNG-FM and WVIQ-FM Christiansted in the US Virgin Islands. He’s now paying $73,293 to add this AM on the US mainland.

Seller The Rain Broadcasting, headed by Roger Morgan, will not actually receive the cash. Instead, Cohen will pay off the outstanding debt that The Rain Broadcasting owes to D&M Communications and D&M will deliver a release to the seller.

Brookneal is in unrated radio territory southeast of Lynchburg in the middle of Virginia. WODI is on 1230 kHz with 1kw day and night.
