New TWC report calls for balanced spectrum policy


Time Warner CableTime Warner Cable’s latest research report discusses the need to better address the effects that the growth of WiFi consumer demand is having on existing unlicensed spectrum allocations. Advancing a national goal of seamless and affordable mobile device connectivity anywhere, anytime, and at high throughputs will require an enormous increase in available spectrum capacity–both licensed and unlicensed.

Unleashing an abundance of spectrum and driving down its cost as an input for all things mobile is therefore the single best means by which the government can promote innovation and consumer welfare in wireless, the report notes.
