The media’s journalists are spreading the wealth when it comes to attention these days, thanks to the lack of a single overriding story.
The elections dominated all of last year, and before that Iraq was dominant for awhile, but these days a lot of different types of stories are being covered, according to the Project for Excellence in Journalism.
In its report for 5/4/09-5/10/09, it found the economic crisis back on top, but with a modest 21% of the overall coverage. No other story made it into double digits, but at least nine stories received a significant 3% or greater.
