Entercom’s “The Voice of Buffalo” adds a new chapter to its 81 years as Buffalo’s News-Talker on 4/5 by being the latest to add an FM signal.  In addition to its current home at 930 AM, WBEN’s programming will be simulcast on 107.7 FM.  The simulcast replaces Classic Rock/AAA WLKK-FM. The Lake’s music has been moved to 107.7 FM-HD2 and is still available online at 1077thelake.com.

WBEN’s current weekday lineup will remain in place and includes “Buffalo’s Early News” with John Zach and Susan Rose, Tom Bauerle, Rush Limbaugh, Sandy Beach, “Buffalo’s Evening News” and Sean Hannity.

RBR-TVBR observation: In the last Arbitron Book, WLKK was 13th in the market, well below its competitors WGRF-FM Classic Rock and WHTT-FM Classic Hits. One of the reasons could be the station’s signal—at 19.5 kW with a 469-ft antenna, it doesn’t quite cover the market as well as the competition. The station has flipped ownership and formats numerous times over the years, possibly because of it.
