The contract is in at the FCC for WZMY-TV in Derry NH, which brings Fox’s junior network MNT to the Boston DMA. And the contract reveals the fact that the new buyer is getting the station at a substantial discount from what the seller paid back in 2004.

ShootingStar Broadcasting of New England LLC, headed by Diane Sutter, is the seller. The buyer is Carlisle One Media Inc, headed Bill Binnie. According to broker Dick Forman, Binnie has stated his intention to memorialize himself in the form of new call letters for the station: WBIN.

The price will be $9.25M cash.

The price Sutter paid for the station, back when its calls were WNDS, was a little bit higher. The 5/11/04 contract with Gerald Q. Nash’s CTV of Derry Inc. calls for a cash payment of $28M.

This is not Binnie’s first transaction in the area. Two deals filed with the FCC in November 2010 are bringing in three low power television stations, two in New Hampshire and one in Vermont, along with three New Hampshire TV translators, for a total of $560K.
