Nick Cannon launching weekly countdown show


The CBS Radio’s 92.3 NOW morning man will host “Cannon’s Countdown” beginning the weekend of 4/23. Citadel Media will syndicate and provide ad representation for the show, available for both CHR Pop/Rhythmic and Urban stations, featuring a mix of music and celebrity interviews.  The four-hour and three-hour versions will debut in two dozen markets including New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Houston, Atlanta, Washington, D.C., Detroit, Phoenix, Oklahoma City, New Orleans and Little Rock.

Launching in conjunction is, an online destination showcasing the program’s weekly list of the most popular Urban or CHR Pop/Rhythmic songs.  The website offers up daily lists of what is hot in pop culture and will chronicle lists of Cannon’s favorite things, while providing his point of view on the latest entertainment and fashion news, event listings, new music and cool gadgets.

Cannon’s Countdown will be available for streaming online and through the app for a variety of mobile devices.  Cannon is also the host of the NBC’s “America ’s Got Talent” and currently serves as chairman of TeenNick. He’s also known for his starring roles in such films as “Drumline,” “ Garfield : The Movie,” “Shall We Dance,” “Roll Bounce,” “Bobby” and “Underclassman,” which he also executive produced.

Dom Theodore, Vice President of CHR/Top 40 Programming, CBS Radio, will serve as executive producer of the programs.
