Weekly TV ratings from The Nielsen Company were supposed to come out on Tuesday, but that didn’t happen. Overnight ratings from Monday were also delayed by a power problem at the ratings company’s computer processing center in Oldsmar, FL.
The explanation: a local transformer blew up, sending a power surge through the Nielsen facility. The resulting power outage left the building without power for an hour until backup power was up and running. Even so, problems with computer servers continued for many hours.
About 3:30 pm ET Tuesday, Nielsen informed RBR-TVBR and other media that the weekly TV ratings would not be issued on Tuesday.
There is, as yet, no word on when the Monday overnights and weekly ratings will be available.
