‘Nightline’ out does ‘Letterman’ 25-54, second place

ABC News’ “Nightline” placed second among Adults 25-54, Adults 18-49 and Total Viewers for the week of March 29, 2010, according to Nielsen Media Research. Additionally, “Nightline” is solidly in second place season to date among Total Viewers, with 3.85 million. Compared to the same week last year, “Nightline” was the only program to grow versus the competition among A25-54, increasing +5%, while NBC’s “Tonight Show with Jay Leno” decreased -26% and CBS’ “Late Show with David Letterman” decreased -8%.


“Nightline” continues to cut the gaps with “The Tonight Show,” shrinking the A25-54 gap with NBC by 28% and cutting the total viewing gap by 18% week to week. “Nightline” also cut the gap with “The Tonight Show” year to year, closing the gaps by 79% among A25-54 and 66% among total viewers.

ABC News’ “Nightline” is anchored by Cynthia McFadden, Terry Moran and Martin Bashir. John Donvan and Vicki Mabrey are correspondents. James Goldston is the executive producer. The program airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m., ET on the ABC Television Network.
