No murder charge in radio confession

A woman called “The Tom Leykis Show” in 2006 and confessed to having killed her ex-boyfriend and gotten off by making it look like suicide. Police tracked down Megan Suzanne Vice in Arizona, but the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office has determined that she will not be charged with murder. The East Valley Tribune quotes County Attorney Andrew Thomas as saying no evidence was found to suggest that the death of Torsten Karl Rockwood in 2001 was anything other than a suicide and that the blood splatters were consistent with a suicide.

Vice is being charged with filing a false police report, a misdemeanor, for reporting her cell phone stolen after Leykis said phone records of her call were going to be turned over to police. After being tracked down by police, Vice denied that she shot Rockwood, the father of her nine-year-old son, and said she called the talk show to “get attention.”
