Senate Commerce Committee Chairman John Thune (R-S.D.) will convene a nomination hearing at 10am on Wednesday, July 19, for FCC Commissioner nominees Jessica Rosenworcel and Brendan Carr.
“This hearing will continue to advance our committee’s fulfillment of its constitutional charge to consider nominees appointed by the President for federal office,” said Thune. “The FCC has significant responsibilities over one of the most innovative sectors of our economy and I look forward to asking these qualified nominees about challenges to advancing the public interest.”
Witnesses will, in addition to Rosenworcel and Carr, include FCC Chairman Ajit Pai.
It is widely expected that Rosenworcel and Carr will be nominated, marking Rosenworcel’s return to the FCC and the finalization of a 3-2 Republican-majority FCC.
The nominees’ questionnaires are available at www.commerce.senate.gov/nominations.
A live video of the hearing will be available on www.commerce.senate.gov.
