Nostalgia time at subcommittee

Congress is back, and Thursday’s schedule has the House Subcommittee on Communications, Technology, and the Internet back in action. The hearing, “Oversight of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act:  Broadband, Part 2,” holds only marginal interest for most broadcasters, but it will offer an opportunity to see new NTIA head Larry E. Strickling in action. And if you want a blast from the past, the only other witness is Department of Agriculture Rural Utilities Service Administrator Jonathan Adelstein.

RBR/TVBR observation: Adelstein, of course, is late of the FCC – not enough of a draw to get us into this one – not even if he promises to break out his harmonica. This subcommittee’s umbrella Committee on Energy & Commerce is expected to be holding an FCC Oversight hearing soon, however – and we’ll be all over that one.
