The Rain Broadcasting Inc. is picking up an AM station, which will go into a broadcast portfolio that already includes an FM station. They are both located in places that share six initial letters, but after that the gulf between them widens considerably. The station is WODI-AM Brookneal VA, located in the Roanoke-Lynchburg market. The buyer, headed by Roger and Kangja Morgan, will pay $135K cash for the station. Their existing station is not in Virginia, though – it’s in the Virgin Islands. The Christiansted VI station, WYAC-FM, does not therefore trigger any local consolidation concerns. The seller is D&M Communications Inc.
