NYC life (channel 25 WNYE-TV), the flagship of NYC Media, announced the launch of its expanded fall lineup featuring 10 new series, including the return of the popular Emmy Award-winning $9.99, and more than a dozen new weekly short-form programs showcasing NYC. Part of the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment, NYC Media is the official TV, radio and online network of the City of New York, informing, educating and entertaining millions of viewers about the City’s diverse people and neighborhoods, government, services, attractions and activities.
Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment Commissioner Katherine Oliver and NYC Media General Manager Diane Petzke previewed a first look of the new programming during the sixth annual New York Television Festival—an indie TV Festival providing a platform to elevate the work of artists creating for the small screen. The new series will premiere on NYC life beginning the week of October 4 and join fifteen series that previously launched earlier this year.
Weeknights, NYC life presents a block of international news offering global perspectives: BBC World News at 6pm, RAI Italian News at 6:30pm, France 24 at 7pm, and Polsat Polish News at 11pm. The popular series Globe Trekker kicks off the night at 7:30pm during the week. New shows will premiere at 8:30pm on different theme nights: Arts & Culture on Mondays; NYC History on Tuesdays; Inside Out New York on Wednesdays; All about Food on Thursdays; and Entertainment on Fridays. Episodes will also be available online after they air on the NYC Media Video on Demand Player: nyc.gov/vod. On the weekends, NYC life also offers an array of children’s programming on Saturday mornings and popular travel and cooking shows on Saturday nights.
