NYC radio revenues up 2.3% in February

NYMRAD / New York Market RadioNew York Market Radio advertising revenues for the two months of 2014 increased 3.26% over the comparable period of 2013 according to the Miller Kaplan New York Market Revenue Report. “The New York market is up, despite the series of storms”, says Deborah Beagan, Executive Director of New York Market Radio Broadcasters Association (NYMRAD).


For the Month of February 2014, Total Revenues, including Digital and Network/NTR/Other, were up 2.3%. Year to Date, the grand total market revenue was up 3.2%.

It turns out that Automotive was up 11% with over $10M of spending in the NY market.  Three rapidly growing Automotive advertisers are: Land Rover, up 153% from $166K last year to $420K this year; Tri State Ford Dealers, up 48% from $458K to $680K; and Mercedes Benz, up 72% from $265K to $455K.

In addition, Communications/Cellular grew 20% with over $8M of spending.  Rapid growers in the category are: Verizon, up 69% from $1.290M to $2.174M; Metro PCS, up 95% from $1.283M to $2.501M; and AT&T, up 67% from $917K to $1.533M.
