Obama gets the spotlight

0

The Project for Excellence in Journalism coverage chart for the week of 1/19-25/09 showed just about what you’d expect – a major focus on the inauguration of Barack Obama. Only the ongoing financial crisis had the moxie to barge into double digit territory.

Obama took 45% of the overall newshole, compared to 2% for outgoing George W. Bush. However, PEJ took a week off, missing Bush’s final address to the nation. That event, however, was overshadowed when an airliner successfully ditched in the Hudson River.

Bush’s exit topped the river landing in the week after.
