President Barack Obama continues his habit of maintain high visibility with another media event – a formal news conference where he will answer reporters’ questions. The good news – it’s not scheduled for primetime. The event will be held in the White House Rose Garden at 12:30 Eastern. Reporter clearance requests were accepted up until 9AM this morning.
RBR/TVBR observation: We doubt we’ll hear any of the behind-the-scenes griping that have accompanied Obama’s forays into the network primetime schedule. It’s a lot easier to deal with the post-noon daypart financially, and for the cable networks, it’s something to feed their insatiable 24/7 newshole. And even if anyone from the press corps should ask have to remember who is in charge of the conference and who calls on the reporters? It is not like drawing names from a hat. DA.
