And now it’s up to the Senate Commerce Committee to confirm. We refer to the nomination of Gary Locke to be Secretary of Commerce – which has no direct family relation to the Senate Committee doing the grilling. It is scheduled for Wednesday, 3/18/09 at 10AM. The primary interest for broadcasters will be Locke’s own upcoming oversight of NTIA, dropping him into the midst of the DTV transition endgame.
RBR/TVBR observation: The Committee remains mum on when they’ll get to the confirmation of prime interest to broadcasters, that of proposed FCC Chair Julius Genachowski.
