Omnicom Media Group announced the formation of OMG Digital, a new unit with responsibility for leading functional initiatives across Omnicom Media Group's digital media capabilities. According to RECMA, the unit oversees 2 billion in digital media spending.
Sean Finnegan has been appointed CEO, OMG Digital, reporting to Daryl Simm, Chairman and CEO of Omnicom Media Group. Finnegan previously led digital media at Omnicom's OMD USA.
OMG Digital is investing in new initiatives that leverage Omnicom 's digital scale to create new benefits for clients. Omnicom has already begun development of a proprietary media intelligence capability that tracks consumers' interaction with digital advertising in order to provide better behavioral and targeting insights. OMG will coordinate digital media buying scale globally to ensure that clients of all Omnicom digital companies gain the benefits of maximum negotiating leverage.
The creation of OMG Digital has no effect on the client service structure at Omnicom companies. Clients of OMD will continue to receive digital media services through OMD Digital, and PHD clients will continue to receive digital media service through the resources of PHDiq.
OMG Digital's structure extends beyond North America, with Managing Directors in Asia Pacific, EMEA and Latin America. It also includes NEXT, Omnicom Media Group's media futures practice.
