Omnicom Group has created Omnicom Digital, a new unit charged with leading strategic initiatives across all digital properties at Omnicom. Jonathan Nelson, founder and most recently chairman of Organic, has been named CEO of Omnicom Digital, effective immediately.
In making the announcement, John Wren, president and CEO of Omnicom Group, said, “More than 13 years ago, we were early adopters of the Internet and all things digital. Today we can unequivocally say that all our major business platforms have a strong digital component and that as a holding company we are well represented in all significant digital platforms. Geographically we are well represented with multiple offerings in more than 75 countries across the globe.”
In his new role, Nelson will assist Omnicom’s digital business platforms in the exploration and development of new technologies, and assessment of investment in companies and talent.
