On Mickey Luckoff leaving KGO/KSFO

I had the immense honor of working alongside Mickey Luckoff as part of the Cap Cities/ABC management team during my tenure as President/General Manager of WLS/Chicago from 1989-1996. (Until his announcement Monday, Mickey was the last of our old Cap Cities/ABC gang still managing the original station…)

It goes without saying that from his leadership within KGO and the San Francisco radio market and extending to his service to our industry on numerous committees, civic projects and visits with legislators in Washington, D.C. on important radio-related issues, Mickey has few peers. He will be sorely missed in the challenging and exciting months ahead.

Mickey Luckoff is unquestionably the most gracious, classy and professional guy ever to have helmed a News/Talk station in America…and his 30-year track record of ratings and revenue success at KGO will never be equaled.
