Outdoor Channel premieres 10 new series

Outdoor Channel is kicking off 2009 with the launch of 10 new programming series and returning favorites, featuring a mix of the network’s most popular genres. Aimed at its core audience of outdoor enthusiasts, Outdoor Channel’s new shows offer the best of the lifestyle of hunting, fishing, shooting and self defense.


The Q1 2009 premieres include:

  The Best Defense
  Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m. ET

Hosted by outdoor industry expert and author, Michael Bane, this exciting new show teaches self defense through knowledge, preparation and awareness for men and women alike. Bane will offer viewers insight and practical tips for self defense in everyday situations.

  Impossible Shots
  Wednesdays at 10:30 p.m. ET

Expanding upon the popular segments from Shooting USA, Impossible Shots becomes a whole new show in 2009. Featuring a half-hour of entertainment and amazement, Impossible Shots showcases the world’s best professional exhibition shooters performing shots that would be impossible for anyone else.

  Beyond the Hunt
  Thursdays at 8:30 p.m. ET

Join husband and wife team Rick & Julie Kreuter as they focus on the personal adventures that making hunting a memorable experience.

  Monster Fish
  Fridays at 8:30 p.m. ET

Monster Fish is a half-hour trek around the globe in search of the biggest and "baddest" aquatic creatures on the planet. Cameras capture "America’s Sportsman" Trevor Gowdy and famed international angler Dennis Braid as they reel in the largest freshwater and saltwater species ever shot in HD. Gowdy and Braid will catch the kinds of fish that simply wouldn’t fit on most trophy walls.

  Bill Dance Saltwater
  Fridays at 10:30 p.m. ET

Saltwater angling is booming. And Bill Dance is bringing his educational format to saltwater fishermen in Bill Dance Saltwater. With each episode, viewers will find Bill partnered with a noted saltwater expert specializing in the week’s target catch.

  Bass Edge
  Saturdays at 2:30 p.m. ET

Bass Edge is a state-of-the-art high-definition fishing program aimed at teaching the fundamentals of bass fishing in a graphic, easy-to-follow format. Join host Aaron Martin and a top bass fishing professional as they teach viewers of all skill levels the fundamentals and finer points of bass fishing.

  The Best of the West
  Saturdays at 8:30 p.m. ET

Hosted by Dan Miller, The Best of the West brings a whole new level of exciting western big game hunting action to television. Many of the hunts on The Best of the West will feature stars from the Professional Bull Riders Association (PBR) and the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA), as hunting is an integral part of the Western lifestyle.

  The Crush with Lee & Tiffany
  Sundays at 7:30 p.m. ET

Iconic married couple, Lee and Tiffany Lakosky, will star in the new reality-based outdoor program, which shows the good, the bad and the ugly of a not-so-typical hunting season.
