John Conyers (D-MI) is bringing his House Judiciary Committee to Los Angeles 6/7/10 to dig into the proposed merger of Comcast and NBCU. The hearing is in the back yard of committee member Maxine Waters (D-CA).

Waters, who called for such a public hearing some time ago, said she will be there, joining witnesses from “the entertainment industry, civil rights organizations, and consumer advocates.”

Samuel S. Kang of the Greenlining Institute has announced he’ll be there to testify in opposition, saying the merger could have a “negative impact on jobs, minority- and women-owned businesses, the diversity of content available to viewers, minority media ownership, and ethnic media programming.”
