Paris picks Larry

How many jailbirds have their publicist putting out news releases for them on BusinessWire? Of course, Paris Hilton is not your ordinary convict. She is due to be released sometime today, igniting, no doubt, a new media frenzy. After all the rumors about ABC and NBC competing for the first post-jail interview with Hilton – and denials from both that any compensation was being offered – the soon-to-be-free socialite will be interviewed instead by Larry King Wednesday evening on CNN.

"I am thrilled that Larry King has asked me to appear on his program to discuss my experience in jail, what I have learned, how I have grown and anything else he wants to talk about. Larry King is not only a world-renown journalist, but a true American Icon. It will be an honor to do his show," said Hilton in her BusinessWire press release. Her publicist has denied that she will be getting any compensation for any interview. "Contrary to media reports, Paris Hilton is not being paid for any television interview. Nor is Paris being paid for any collateral, including video and photographs related to any television interview," the statement from her publicist said.
TVBR observation: We can only imagine how upset Wolf Blitzer is that Paris decided to wait until later in the evening to make her CNN appearance on Larry's show.
