Sinclair’s WKEF-TV (ABC) and LMA’d WRGT-TV (Fox) Dayton, OH report the death of their News Director, Pat Casey. He had been battling brain cancer for over a year and died at age 54.
Casey had been in the news business for 30 years, beginning in Baltimore and working in Portland, ME, Los Angeles and Cincinnati before becoming News Director of the Dayton duo in 2005.
The veteran newsman had been diagnosed in February 2010 with Glioblastoma, a form of brain cancer. He died Saturday (3/19) in hospice care.
Casey is survived by his wife, Maureen, and their three children. In lieu of flowers a fund has been set up in support of the Casey family at Fifth Third Bank in Cincinnati.
