KTKA-TV in Topeka KS is changing hands. The station is headed to PBC Broadcasting LLC, giving it a third network affiliate and a third market. The deal was handled by brokerage firms Kalil & Co. and CobbCorp.
The seller is Free State Communications Inc. An LMA is to kick in immediately, with closing expected sometime in Q2. Terms were not released.
PBC’s other two stations are Fox WTGS-TV in the Savannah GA DMA and ABC WYTV-TV in the Youngstown OH DMA.
The group’s growth is closely tracking the portfolio of New Vision Broadcasting, a television group that just happens to have a relationship with PBC’s two already-owned stations.
In Savannah, it owns ABC WJCL-TV and has an SSA/JSA with PBC’s WTGS.
In Youngstown, New Vision has CBS WKBN and Fox WYFX, and has an SSA/JSA with PBC’s WYTV, which in addition to ABC carries MNT on an HD side channel.
New Vision is also active in Topeka, where it has NBC KSNT and Fox KTMJ.
