For the first time in its 80 year history, the Peabody Awards Ceremony will be held in Los Angeles. Historically, the ceremony which recognizes excellence in TV, radio and journalism, has been held in New York.

“Moving the ceremony to Los Angeles reflects the evolution of Peabody’s commitment to celebrating the meaningful and significant narratives about pressing social issues, right in the world’s capital of content creation,” said Jeffrey Jones, Executive Director of Peabody.

60 Nominees for the Peabody will be announced in April and the 30 winners will be revealed in May. The award ceremony will be held at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel on Thursday June 18, 2020.

The Peabody program is based at the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Georgia.
