NBC Universal will produce customized, branded content for the PRN Supermarket Check-Out TV channel network, owned by Thomson. The first advertiser to sign up is Progressive Insurance. The announcement of the strategic sales and marketing alliance says the short-form content will be featured at more than 1,000 supermarkets across the US. No details were given on just what sort of content NBC will produce. It is described as programming "that will offer key targeted advertisers integrated branding opportunities designed specifically for the supermarket environment." PRN claims that its Supermarket Check-Out TV screens are viewed more than 45 million times each month by consumers.
