NBC’s Peacock Productions has entered into a development deal with award-winning columnist and author Solomon Jones. Solomon Jones is an author, journalist and producer who rose from homelessness to critical acclaim.

In 1993, following a series of losses, Jones began his writing career from a homeless shelter. While penning articles for the Philadelphia Tribune, Philadelphia Inquirer and Philadelphia Magazine, he worked his way through college as a doorman, and in the process, completed his first novel, “Pipe Dream.” In 2002, the American Library Association named “Pipe Dream” one of the year’s 10 best crime novels, and in 2003, Jones’s second novel, “The Bridge,” became an Essence best-seller. Jones later penned the critically acclaimed urban mysteries, “Ride Or Die” (St. Martin’s Press, 2004) and “C.R.E.A.M.” (St. Martins Press, 2006). His latest novel, “Payback” (St. Martin’s Press) was released in March 2009.
