Performance Tax questioned

While attending the Academy of Country Music Awards program in Las Vegas last month, I noticed that around half of the performers who accepted their awards were very grateful to "radio" for their good fortune and obvious exposure.  How many times do you hear this at awards shows? And you never hear anyone comment in a negative way to "radio."  We are always right up there with God, grandma, and their first music teacher.  Clearly, they know we are useful to them and would rather not offend us and potentially limit their own air play.  Perhaps that is why the artists that are hot and doing well have nothing to say.  The artists who testify against radio apparently have nothing new to sell.
