Entercom has turned to the Local Sales Manager for Tribune Media in the capital of the Constitution State as its new SVP and Market Manager in the market.

Don’t worry about lack of radio experience: She spent 17 years at two of the stations in the Entercom/Hartford cluster.

Taking the role is Stephanie Perl, and starting August 6 she will oversee heritage News/Talk WTIC-AM 1080, Hot AC WTIC-FM 96.5, Urban WZMX-FM “HOT 93.7” and AC WRCH-FM “Lite 100.5.”

For the last 2 1/2 years, Perl has oversight of all local sales for Tribune’s WTIC-61, a FOX affiliate, and WCCT-TV, the CW affiliate for most of Connecticut. The stations were poised to be sold to Sinclair Broadcast Group in a merger that now appears to be on its way to a possible dissolution.

Perl is perhaps best known for her long tenure as GSM of WTIC-FM and Hot 93.7. She started at the stations in 1999 and exited under CBS Radio ownership in April 2016.

She’ll report to Entercom Regional President and Boston Market Manager Mark Hannon. “Her business acumen and leadership will help us provide our partners with premier solutions that reach our loyal and engaged audience in Hartford,” he said.

“I’m thrilled to take on this new opportunity in Hartford, a city I know and love,” Perl added. Echoing comments made by Entercom head David Field, Perl noted, “Radio is the No. 1 reach medium in the United States and has more listeners than ever before, making this an exciting time to come back to the industry.”
