Phoenix AM headed to new owner

SoldForce Communications filed to acquire KIDR-AM Phoenix AZ at the beginning of 2009. Now, going on four years later, it has a deal to sell it.

The station is going to En Familia Inc. for $1.85M, according to Media Services Group broker Jody McCoy, who handled the deal.

Force is headed by group owner and consultant Harold Gore. He bought the station from Arthur Liu’s Multicultural Broadcasting in a deal filed with the FCC 1/5/09 for $1.5M. that means he is realizing a nice face-value profit of $350K, no mean feat in today’s trading environment.

The station is a Class B on 740 kHz with 1 kW-D, 292 @-N, DA2. It provides decent coverage of the urbanized Phoenix area, doing better on the southeast side with a bit of weakness on the western reaches of the market.
