A member of 2016 class in the Academy of Podcasters Hall of Fame for his work in building and promoting podcasts, widely known as a co-founder of the popular Podcast Movement conference, has accepted the role of EVP at Dallas-based BizTalkRadio.

Gary Leland is making the move, one that BizTalkRadio says “recognizes the need to increase the digital footprint and marketing of the brand.”

He reports to COO Scott Miller, who said, “We continue to grow our radio footprint, but to support our affiliates we felt we needed a stronger digital and social media focus. Gary is
well known in the radio podcasting space and is a marketer by nature.”

Leland was one of the first 100 podcasters and was recognized as one of 50 Social Media
Marketing Influencers to follow in 2017.

Leland commented, “Radio is still a very powerful medium. My father-in-law owned a radio station in Texas. I have seen first hand how local radio can impact a community. Radio still has a role to play, but we have to recognize how people consume radio is changing. My goal is to embrace the change and drive more listeners to our programmers and affiliates. To be a resource to help both stay viable in the 21st century.”

Leland began producing the Bit Block Boom Bitcoin Conference in August 2017, and in March 2018 started producing the 4 Minute Crypto show.

He is a 1974 graduate of the College of Charleston.
