No, he’s not traded in a megaphone for an intercom.

Rather, this sales and marketing pro will soon be representing Entercom.

Starting Sept. 10, sales and marketing pro Ken Lagana will be tasked with leading the sales strategy for the company’s “large and rapidly growing” digital business.

This includes including RADIO.COM and recent Entercom podcast acquisitions Cadence13 and Pineapple Street Studios.

Lagana joins Entercom from Megaphone, a podcast technology provider for publishers and advertisers, where he was Head of Sales and Marketing.

He reports directly to Hudson Square-based Chief Digital Officer J.D. Crowley, and to Entercom Chief Revenue Officer Bob Philips.

“I have known Ken a long time and have immense respect for the large digital businesses he’s helped build,” Crowley said. “He has an incredible reputation in the industry for creating innovative programs at scale that solve challenges for marketers. We’re excited to welcome him to the team as we continue to help shape the rapidly growing digital audio marketplace.”

Philips added that Lagana has “an impressive background at leading digital media organizations” and is pleased he is joining Entercom “in optimizing the customer experience and driving growth.”

Commenting on his forthcoming duties, Lagana said, “We are seeing a massive resurgence by major brand advertisers who are taking advantage of the power of spoken word and streaming digital audio. RADIO.COM is incredibly well positioned to deliver the targeted reach, scale and efficiency that these advertisers have come to expect from digital platforms.”

At Megaphone, Lagana played a key role in developing and promoting Megaphone Targeted Marketplace (MTM), a targeting and measurement product.

Before that, he was SVP of Global Sales and Marketing for CBS Digital Media. In this role, Lagana oversaw revenue generation and integrated marketing for the company’s entertainment, news and sports properties globally. His media career spans over 20 years and also includes sales and management positions at Turner Broadcasting and planning and strategy roles at Grey Advertising.
