Price revealed in Miami

Salem Communications announced its plans to acquire a DIY AM in the Miami-Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood Arbitron market. We knew that the station is using a business format, and that it’s the group’s third AM in the market. Now we know the price. Salem will be sending $1.4M to Karen M. Cox, who is doing business as Florida City Radio. It will also handle construction of the station with the seller’s cooperation. The CP is for a Class B on 880 kHz with 4 kw-D and 5 kw-N on separate directional arrays. Salem Miami’s roster of stations that includes WMCU (1080AM) and WKAT (1360AM).The station will be modeled after the group’s KDOW-AM in San Francisco.
