Pro-MVPD Group Highlights Retrans ‘Blackout Crisis’

The ever-increasing and often uglier battles over new retransmission fee agreements has become the black mark of the television industry, pitting cable companies and DBS providers such as DirecTV and DISH Network against a bevy of broadcast companies.


TV station owners have their accusations. So do the MVPDs and DBS companies.

Now, the pro-MVPD American Television Alliance (ATVA) has fueled the flames by launching a consumer-focused website as part of an “education” campaign designed to encourage “TV fans and blackout victims to urge Congress and the FCC to overhaul video regulations.”
