Working against last year’s politically-inflated comps, Hearst-Argyle Television reported that Q3 revenues were down 3% to 176.8 million. Absent political, ad sales were up 5.6%, although that was attributable in part to the acquisition to WKCF-TV to create a duopoly in Orlando. CEO David Barrett trumpeted gains by the company’s digital media operations, where revenues were up 43% to 5.2 million. Also, retransmission consent revenue was 5.6%, up 18% from a year ago.
