Quantico CP sold

Quantico VA is the town where a facility used by both the US Marine Corps and the FBI is situated – and it’s also home to a DIY AM radio station that is getting a brand new owner. The station already has call letters – WURA.

The seller is Prince William Broadcasting LLC, which is made up of five partner companies. Their combined 75% or so of the station is going to Capital Broadcasting VA LLC, headed by Al Hammond.

Dale City Broadcasting gets $61.2K for 25.5%; Cleo Broadcasting gets $60K for 15%; Bay Broadcasting gets $30K for 11.33%; and Lexington Park Broadcasting and Moonglow Broadcasting each get $27,192 for 11.33%. That works out to $205,584 for the station. The buyer will also pay $20K in engineering fees.

The CP is for a Class B on 920 kHz with 7 kw-D, 970 w-N, DA2.

RBR-TVBR observation: This baby station will probably have access to two Arbitron markets. It shouldn’t be too far from Fredericksburg VA, and will also have access to parts of the Washington DC market.
