When it came time to find the right partner for the launch of a new channel in HD, Liberty Interactive‘s shop-at-home giant QVC went shopping in Europe, and has forged a deal with a major television broadcasting and multimedia network company with its headquarters just off the Via Tiburtina in Rome.

Gruppo Giglio, established in 2003, will see its M-Three SatCom business unit host the new QVC HD channel. The channel is already being distributed through the Eutelsat Hot Bird satellites on 13° East, and officially debuted Dec. 6, 2016.

The agreement is valued at roughly $1 million and is for a three-year term.

QVC reaches some 360 million consumers across the globe via television and digital platforms.

According to M-Three SatCom Managing Director Michele Magnifichi, the M-Three teleport has been used since 2010, with QVC broadcasting in SD format.
