Radio Disney AM 1300 brings fan-favorites 'Phineas and Ferb' to festival

Radio Disney AM 1300 kicks off the holiday season in Chicago with a day of fun for kids and families on SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 20, at the 19th annual Magnificent Mile Lights Festival presented by Harris. The day of special events will bring fans face to face with some of their favorite stars, including ALLSTAR WEEKEND and the PHINEAS and FERB walk-around characters. 


Radio Disney on-air personality Ernie D will host a free concert by Hollywood Records recording artists Allstar Weekend at 2:00p.m. on the Harris Stage in Pioneer Court (401 North Michigan Avenue, Chicago, Illinois). Finalists on the first season of Radio Disney’s “N.B.T.,” Allstar Weekend recently released their second album, “Suddenly Yours,” and are set to kick off their second headlining tour on November 4. Their new hit single, “Come Down with Love,” is currently climbing the Radio Disney Top 30 and “Dance Forever,” which is still played regularly on Radio Disney, was on the Radio Disney Top 30 for 15 consecutive weeks.

Before and after the concert, kids and families can visit the Radio Disney booth at Lights Festival Lane in Pioneer Court for music, games and prizes. Starting at 11:45 a.m., the Radio Disney Road Crew will host special “Phineas and Ferb” themed activities, which will include an appearance by the Phineas and Ferb walk-around characters from Disney XD and Disney Channel’s “Phineas and Ferb”*. An Emmy Award-winning animated comedy series, “Phineas and Ferb” stars Vincent Martella (as Phineas Flynn), and Thomas Sangster (as Ferb Fletcher), and was created and executive-produced by Dan Povenmire (“Family Guy”) and Jeff “Swampy” Marsh (“The Simpsons” and “Rocko’s Modern Life”).

Following the concert, Allstar Weekend will kick off the tree lighting procession down Michigan Avenue with a special televised performance of “Come Down With Love.” Ernie D and “Phineas and Ferb” characters will greet local fans from the Radio Disney float. The lighting procession begins at 5:30 p.m. and features more than 30 spectacular floats, marching bands and beloved Disney characters, with Mickey and Minnie Mouse illuminating more than one million lights on 200 trees along The Magnificent Mile.
