Radio Disney spins another AM

0

Walt Disney Company seems to have made the sale of a portion of its Radio Disney fleet of AM stations somewhat of a priority, and the announcement of another one leaving the fold has now hit the wires.
This time it’s WDDZ-AM Providence RI, and the buyer is Salem Communications.

According to brokers John Pierce and Bill Schutz, who represented the buyer and seller, respectively, the price will be $550K cash. That price just happens to mirror the station’s 550 kHz dial position. It’s licensed to nearby Pawtucket RI.

Salem says it will operate the station in conjunction with its AM stations just to the north in Boston, and in particular will tie it to 590 kHz WEZE.
